Paul L. Weaver, III, holds a M.A. in Latin American history from the University of Florida. He  studied Spanish paleography with training in translating and transcribing documents  dating to the sixteenth century. He served as a Historic Site Specialist with the Historic St.  Augustine Preservation Board and later the Florida Department of State and as archivist with the Library of Florida History. Weaver has served in professsional volunteer capacities as a board member of the St. Augustine Historic  Architectural Review Board and he has served as board president of the St.  Augustine Historical Society. He was recently bestowed the de Aviles awad by the City of St. Augustine for his years of service and dedication to the city.
